A SURFER has died after being caught up in an e-bike accident.
Kolby Aipa was in a critical condition following the horror on Saturday night but he died on Tuesday.
He lost control of his bike on the Pacific Coast Highway, according to Huntington Beach cops.
Aipa was then hit by a car, according to the Los Angeles Times.
He was the grandson of Ben Aipa, who founded the surfboard brand Aipa Surfboards in 1970.
Ben was credited for inventing the swallowtail design in 1972 and the split-tail design two years later.
“Thank you for loving our boy,” Aipa Surf posted on social media.
The brand said they have been left “completely heartbroken” by Aipa’s death.
“Kolby always had a way with touching the lives of whoever he met,” the statement said.
“His acts of kindness and caring was his gift of Aloha to friends and strangers alike.
“To everyone that reads this… pass his Aloha on. So, how Kolby treated you, treat others in that same way…
“In this you are continuing his legacy of Aloha. And you too can be like Kolby.”
