It’s officially the end of an era. Kenya Moore will not be returning to The Real Housewives of Atlanta for its 17th season. The former Housewife had a bumpy Season 16, which ended in an early dismissal. Fans were appalled by her exit, especially since Porsha Williams and Cynthia Bailey were back on-screen together. Having these iconic Housewives together again was like the good old days of RHOA, when the cast clicked.
Although Kenya left the series early, fans were hoping she’d make her way back to the series for Season 17. Unfortunately, Kenya told fans not to get their hopes up.
Kenya Moore Will Not Be A Part Of Season 17 Of RHOA
In late July, Kenya Moore went live on social media, where she discussed her place on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. The star admitted that she will not be a part of the 17th season due to the scandal involving Brit Eady in Season 16.
Kenya was intended to be a main Housewife throughout Season 16, but her actions against Brit grew dark, leading to her being fired by Bravo in the middle of the season. And now, it looks like Kenya is taking a break from Bravo. During an Instagram live (via Entertainment Now), Kenya admitted she was not returning,
“As of now, no. That could change. I keep hearing a lot of different things.”
The mother of one continued, “You know, we had been in talks, but as of this moment, it’s a no.”
What Happened Between Kenya Moore And Brit Eady?
The two Housewives didn’t get along with one another from the start. While Kenya let a lot of Brit’s insults roll off her shoulders, there came a time when she felt like she had to defend herself publicly.
At a private gathering for the opening of Kenya’s hair salon, Kenya made a speech about Brit’s character, showing alleged enlarged images of Brit in sexually compromised positions from her past. The intimate photos shocked the audience, forcing a few Housewives to leave in the middle of Kenya’s speech.
During the viewing, Bravo blurred their cameras and released a quick announcement: “Due to the graphic nature of these photographs, Bravo has chosen not to exhibit them.”
Kenya’s stunt stunned everyone, from production to those at the private viewing, and it ultimately got her fired. Many were hoping she would make an appearance at the reunion, but that never happened.
“I’m disappointed to not be a part of the #RHOA 16 reunion taping today. Please know I take full accountability for my actions and deeply apologize to all those affected, including Brittney, the cast, crew, guests, and viewers. I look forward to seeing you all back on Bravo soon.”
Many have theorized that Bravo didn’t allow Kenya to be a part of the reunion because of the lawsuit that Brit filed against the network once the season ended. According to USA Today, Brit sued NBC, Bravo, and the production companies for $20 million. She accused the three of “defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, false light, sexual harassment, and hostile work environment.”
There’s An Alleged Cast Shakeup For Season 17
Kenya Moore isn’t the only Housewife who will be missing from The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s 17th season. Kenya also mentioned during her Instagram live that new Housewives are being added to the roster.
Kenya claimed that Bravo is allegedly hiring two new Housewives to join the new season: one is a restaurateur like Kelli Ferrell, while the other was formerly on the reality TV show, Love & Hip Hop.
“I think you guys kind of know them both. They’re both like known people. One is a business person, she’s a [restaurateur], and the other one is actually … the other one is actually from Love & Hip Hop.”
Some fans have theorized that the two additions are:
Moore shared that production starts filming this August and that an official cast list should leak soon.

Kenya Moore (Left Early) |
Phaedra Parks (Came Midseason) |
Kelli Ferrell |
Brit Eady |
Drew Sidora |
Angela Oakley |
Cynthia Bailey (Friend) |
Shamea Morton |
Who’s Not Coming Back?
Kenya Moore and Brit Eady aren’t the only ones not returning. It’s alleged that Shamea Morton is stepping away from RHOA.
Although Shamea has been a breakout star during her first time as a full-time Housewife on RHOA, the arguments with longtime best friend Porsha Williams aren’t worth the title on the series.
Viewers saw their dynamic changes once Shamea became a peach holder. Now, many believe Shamea will step away from the series to save her friendship. Without Kenya, Brit, and allegedly Shamea, a cast revolved around Porsha, Phaedra Parks, and Cynthia Bailey would be promising, especially if the rest of the women from Season 16 joined them.
- Angela Oakley authentically showed the highs and lows of her marriage.
- Kelli brought cameras along with her during her divorce proceedings.
- Drew Sirdora let audiences know that her soon-to-be ex-husband was living in her basement.
- Phaedra showed viewers her new phase of life (and new boyfriend).
- Porsha was honest about her messy divorce and emotional mess behind her arguments with Shamea
For now, fans are waiting on the edge of their seats for news on the cast for Season 17. It’s not looking bright for Kenya fans, but there’s always a chance she can make a cameo.
