AUBURN, Ala. (WRBL) — The Office of Professional and Continuing Education at Auburn University will host a live, national tax seminar to help tax professionals understand the impact of H.R. 1: One Beautiful Bill Act.

The highly contested bill passed on July 1, 2025, with Vice President JD Vance submitting the tie-breaking vote, and passed the House of Representatives on July 3, 2025. The bill is considered a signature piece of legislation for President Donald Trump’s second term.

H.R.1 provides a significant tax overhaul, with more than 300 pages of the bill being dedicated to tax law changes.

Auburn University officials say the seminar, “Preparing for the 2025 One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” will help tax professionals navigate the new law. The three-hour course will be presented on Zoom beginning on Aug. 27.

The class cost $125, which includes the seminar, the PowerPoint presentation and a sample client letter to help tax pros outline changes for their clients.

“Unless tax professionals react quickly to the new legislation, incorrectly interpreting the new laws may create situations where citizens pay more taxes,” said Chris Bird, an author and former IRS agent. “Keeping clients informed and updated on legislative developments is essential not only for compliance but also for identifying strategic opportunities, minimizing tax liabilities and maximizing available benefits under the new law.”
