Sha’Carri Richardson allegedly shoved boyfriend before arrest

New insights have emerged from surveillance video related to an altercation between sprinters Christian Coleman and Sha’Carri Richardson, leading to Richardson’s arrest late last month.

The footage, obtained and made public by TMZ, comes from inside Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and captures the intense moments on July 27 when Richardson repeatedly shoved Coleman.

The videos show Richardson angry with Coleman and grabbing at his bag before then getting in his face.

Although Coleman tried to distance himself, Richardson persisted, eventually pushing him into a wall. A second attempt by Coleman to disengage was thwarted when Richardson forcefully shoved him again behind a pillar, as shown in the video.

Eventually, the couple — which went public with their relationship in February — ended up near a TSA checkpoint, and it appeared she threw an item at him before the two continued to argue.

TMZ reported that they talked for several minutes, and when Richardson left the area, police arrived on the scene and spoke with Coleman.

Coleman declined to press charges and “declined to be a victim,” but Richardson was held for nearly 19 hours at the SCORE South Correctional Facility in Des Moines, Wash.

Richardson has not addressed the incident publicly, but Coleman was asked about it by reporters at the 2025 USATF Outdoor Championships last weekend.

“For me personally, I feel like it was a sucky situation all round,” Coleman said. “I don’t feel like she should have been arrested. I mean people have discussions and emotions and stuff like that. She has things that she needs to work on for herself, of course. So do I, so do you, so does everybody.

“But I’m the type of guy who’s in the business of extending grace, and mercy and love. I hate the narrative too… its so negative. In the state of Seattle, even talking to the cop to whatever, he was like, ‘There is really nothing I can do.’”
