WALMART shoppers have been urged to stop wearing a clothing product over fears it could cause burns.

Safety officials have warned how the item could pose as a hazard if worn.

A pair of heated socks have been recalled over the risk they can cause burns. 

The item was sold at major retailers such as Walmart, Amazon, and Home Depot. 

Federal safety chiefs issued the recall on August 7.

More than 45,000 units of the Fieldsheer heated socks are being recalled.

Officials say the socks can cause pain and discomfort.

They’ve warned shoppers about the risks of burns and blisters.

The socks, made from wool, were sold in a range of colors, including black-gray, gray-orange, gray-pink, and black and orange.

When shoppers purchased the socks, they would also receive a two lithium-ion battery packs as well as a charging cable.
