Chicago mass shooting Sunday; Woman shot, killed in South Austin at North La Crosse Avenue, West West End, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) — Chicago police are investigating a mass shooting on the city’s West Side.

Police reported three separate shootings within a couple of blocks in the South Austin neighborhood on Sunday.

La Crosse Avenue Mass Shooting

A woman was killed and six other people were shot at about 2:48 a.m. in the 100-block of N. La Crosse Avenue, according to police.

Police said a 22-year-old woman was shot in the back. She was taken to Mt. Sinai hospital, where she died.

A 17-year-old boy was shot to the left thigh. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

A man, 29, was shot in the right leg, he was taken to Loretto hospital in critical condition.

An 18-year-old man was shot in the chest and arm. He was taken to Stroger hospital in critical condition.

A second 18-year-old man was grazed in the left hand. He was treated at the scene.

A woman, 29, was shot in the right elbow, she is expected to be OK.

Maypole Avenue Shooting

About three blocks from the large gathering, police said an 18-year-old was shot and killed.

CPD said the shooting happened in the 5000-block of W. Maypole Avenue at about 4:37 a.m.

Two 18-year-old men were allegedly in an argument with two people who were in a vehicle, police said.

The two suspects who were in the car started shooting at the 18-year-old, police said.

One of the 18-year-old was shot twice in the back. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he died.

The other 18-year-old was shot in the arm. He was taken to Mt. Sinai and is expected to be OK.

Lamon Avenue Shooting

In the same area, a woman was found with multiple gunshot wounds, police said,

The 20-year-old was found in the 200-block of N. Lamon at about 1:40 a.m. She was taken to Mt. Sinai and was listed in good condition.

Chicago police have not confirmed that all three shootings were related.
