Michael Klim has sparked rumours he is engaged to his girlfriend Michelle Owen after six years of dating.

The Olympic gold medallist, 47, posted a sweet tribute to his ladylove on Instagram as they celebrated their anniversary.

The swimmer said he ‘can’t wait to see what the future holds’ in the caption, leaving many fans questioning whether he had popped the question.

‘6 years! You are my angel, my everything @michelleowen,’ Michael wrote.

‘Thanks for riding the waves with me, the calm and the chaos. Wouldn’t want to face life with anyone else but you. Can’t wait to see what our future holds.’

Some of Michael’s followers urged him to propose if he hadn’t done so already.

Michael and Michelle debuted their romance back in October 2019, five months after his split from Desiree Deravi, when they were spotted together at a cafe in Bondi.

The former Olympian began dating Desiree in 2016, but reportedly split in May 2019 after they unfollowed each other on Instagram.

Michelle and Michael have spent plenty of time together in Bali over the past several years to be closer to his three children, who lived there with his ex-wife Lindy Klim until recently.

Lindy and Michael split in February 2016 after 10 years of marriage, and share three children: daughters Stella, 18, and Frankie, 13, and son Rocco, 16.

She went on to marry property developer Adam in 2018, and together they welcomed daughter Goldie in 2017.

However, Lindy and Adam split last year and she has relocated back to Melbourne with her children.

Daily Mail Australia was the first to reveal a potential marriage breakdown between Lindy and Adam after the celebrity fashionista posted the tell-tale family photo to her social media.

Followers were quick to note Ellis’ absence in the photo and from her social media page, as well as the missing large citrine engagement ring on her left-hand wedding finger.
