Officers found two men, 19 and 20, who had been shot near a basketball court at 500 Station Apartments.

The shooting apparently began near the apartment complex’s basketball courts before moving into a parking lot between two buildings.

The Aurora Fired Department transported both victims to local hospitals. The 20-year-old is in critical condition, and the 19-year-old suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Two men were shot amid a domestic dispute in Aurora. Police are searching for the shooter.

The suspect fled the scene, and authorities are actively searching for him.

Heavily armed police swarmed the neighborhood, which sits right at the border with Naperville, as a manhunt began.

The Aurora Police Department released a photo of 24-year-old Aurora man Aaron Conley, who officials are looking for in connection with the shooting.

Conley has brown eyes, is 6-foot-1 and weighs around 185 pounds. He was last seen wearing all-black clothing.

More than one resident witnessed the aftermath from their balconies.

“I saw somebody run behind a building here. All dressed in black. Black pants. Ran into the park, hesitated. Ran back to the building and then ran back out into the park, into the forest, the forest preserve area,” neighbor Scott Fisher told ABC7.

“I heard someone screaming, like, ‘Oh, my gosh, someone help!’ And I went out on the patio and looked down, and saw someone laying there,” said neighbor Stephan Agostine. “I think something happened, and he ran around here to escape, and he hid in the bushes here.”

“This seemed like automatic gunfire. It was two short bursts, and then it was quiet,” said neighbor Richard Myrick.

Officers recovered a firearm at the scene. Police said they are still working to identify the circumstance surrounding the shooting, but they believe it was an isolated incident between acquaintances.

Authorities initially asked the public to avoid the area near Station Boulevard and New York Street.

The massive police response caused temporary Metra disruptions. At one point, BNSF inbound and outbound trains were stopped near Route 59.

Police said anyone who sees Conley should not approach him. Aurora police asked anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact APD immediately via 911 or 630-256-5000.

Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000 or via their website at www.p3tips.com/135.

Police said a preliminary investigation indicates that the shooting was an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the public.

Aurora police asked anyone with information about the shooting to contact them at 630-256-5500.
