The Texas House Democrats left their state to block a quorum and prevent a vote on a controversial redistricting plan.

It could give Republicans up to five additional seats in the House.

Critics accuse the lawmakers of evading responsibility.

The redistricting bill is set for a vote in the Texas House on Monday.

Bryan Zarou from the Better Government Association joined ABC7 Chicago Saturday morning to discuss more about the redistricting fight in Texas.
