IROQUOIS COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — Quera Owens and Susan Fauver from the Vermilion County Health Department joined WCIA 3’s Mitchell Rife in the studio to talk about a new WIC Agency location.

Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is a supplemental food program which offers food for those in need, breastfeeding support, local referrals for healthcare, and more.

WIC organizers said after speaking with Watseka officials and residents, they learned that there was a need for WIC resources in the community — the closest WIC location was about an hour away. Now, the Iroquois County Health Department will function as a satellite clinic every second and fourth Wednesday of the month.

You can learn more about WIC and some of the services they offer here.
