A RECALL on a popular deodorant sold at major retailers such as Walmart and Dollar Tree has been upgraded by federal officials.
More than 67,000 cases are being recalled under the order.
The products impacted include three types of Power Stick deodorant.
It was issued because it fell short of the FDA’s Current Good Manufacturing Practice rules.
This is a scale that bosses use when deciding if products are safe.
The recall was first issued on July 10 before chiefs at the Food and Drug Administration classified it as a class II.
A class II is the second highest recall under the FDA’s tiered system.
More than 21,000 cases of the Power Stick for her antiperspirant deodorant are being recalled under the order.
Over 22,000 cases of an invisible protection roll-on deodorant are also being recalled.
The third deodorant that’s being recalled is a Shave and Skincare Power Stick Original Nourishing Protection roll-on antiperspirant.
Shoppers should check the code underneath the item’s barcode to see if they have been impacted.
The recall was requested by the company AP Deauville – a leading manufacturer of personal care items.
AP Deauville is known for brands such as Power Stick and Soft Whisper.
It is one of the leaders in the antiperspirant market.
The company also produces shampoos, conditioners, body washes and lotions.
How to handle product recall
FOOD Safety experts insist that shoppers shouldn’t panic if they’re affected by a recall, as many are harmless.
However, consumers should take each warning seriously and follow the necessary steps to protect themselves.
Oftentimes, food manufacturers issue recalls as a precautionary measure, so there likely isn’t a foodborne illness hiding in your pantry.
However, even if the recall is merely a precaution, shoppers should always stay safe and not consume the affected items.
Experts advise people to keep a product closed if it hasn’t been opened, and never feed it to a pet or donate it to food banks.
Anyone who has handled or opened an affected item should wash their hands thoroughly with warm water and soap for 20 seconds.
Read the recall closely for specific instructions on how to get rid of the food item.
Typically, the brand will ask consumers to return the recalled product to the store where they purchased it for a full refund.
Sometimes shoppers will also be asked to throw it away so that no one else can eat it.

Meanwhile, a smartwatch sold on the Home Shopping Network has been recalled over fears it could overheat and cause burns.
A mini-fridge sold at Walmart has also been recalled.
And, a recall was issued for a garlic press sold at IKEA.
The kitchen tool was sold for around $8 between March 2024 and May 2025.
Safety officials also recalled a kitchen stepper sold at major retailers such as Target, Walmart, and Lowe’s.
This was due to an issue with the safety bar, which meant it posed as a hazard to users.
