A popular variety of Cadbury chocolate has been urgently recalled.

Food Standards Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ) issued the recall for 10 Piece Sharebag Marvellous Creations Jelly Popping Candy Beanies on Tuesday.

Mondelez Australia, the owner of Cadbury, warned the affected 160g product was sold in Coles, Woolworths, Drakes, The Reject Shop, IGA and independent retailers.

It warned plastic had been detected in the chocolate.

‘Food products containing plastic may cause illness/injury if consumed,’ FSANZ said.

‘Consumers should not eat this product. 

‘Consumers should return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund. 

‘Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.’
