Travis Kelce is opening up like never before about how his relationship with Taylor Swift.

The NFL star, 35, reflected on the two-year romance in his GQ cover story published Tuesday, August 12, admitting that despite the intense media attention, what he and Taylor share is surprisingly normal.

“Whenever I’m with her, it feels like we’re just regular people,” Travis said. “When there is not a camera on us, we’re just two people that are in love.”

While the world has watched their every move since first being linked in 2023, Travis acknowledged the public perception of their relationship doesn’t always match reality. “It can be perceived as something else because of how much it is talked about and how much we are tracked whenever we do go out, but I would say that it’s as normal of …”

For the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, the beginning of their romance felt refreshingly uncalculated. “It happened very organically even though from a media standpoint it was being tracked,” he explained. “It still happened very organically.”

Travis credits their connection to simply being themselves from the start. “Nothing I’ve ever done has been a controlled, organized process. When I say it was so organic, we fell in love just based off the people we were sitting in a room together with,” he shared.

He also revealed the shared values that keep them strong: “We are two fun-loving people who have the morals to appreciate everyone for who they are. We share all those values. It kind of just took the f*** off. Nowadays, I just want to be respected and loved by the people that I’m surrounded by in my work. I want to leave it better than where it was when I started. And I see her having those same values.”

Of course, fans remember Travis’ first public attempt to get Taylor’s attention. “Well, I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” he said on his “New Heights” podcast in July 2023. “So I was a little butthurt, I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her. She doesn’t meet anybody — or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personal. But it was an unbelievable show. Kansas City showed out.”

Now, two years into their relationship, the couple is taking things to the next level — with Taylor even recording an episode of Travis’ podcast. The episode, tied to her upcoming album The Life of a Showgirl, drops Wednesday, August 13 — and fans are already counting down the minutes.
