The Camden County Sheriff’s Office says they arrested a school board janitor for aggravated child molestation.

CAMDEN COUNTY, Ga. — The Camden County Sheriff’s Office arrested a janitor for the Camden County School System Board of Education for charges of aggravated child molestation, according to a press release.

The arrest stems from an incident that happened before the man, identified as Mason Guarino, was an employee with the school board. The victim was not a student, according to CCSO.

The arrest came from information provided during a forensic interview conducted by the Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS). The information led investigators to determine there was probable cause to arrest Guarino for the “forceful sodomy of a 15-year-old juvenile.”

Guarino was arrested by CCSO, and no other information will be released to protect the victim and preserve the investigation.

“Safety and well-being of our children will always be our highest priority. We work closely with the Camden County School System to ensure a safe environment for every student, and when allegations like this arise, we act swiftly and decisively. Our children deserve nothing less,” Sheriff Kevin Chaney said.

First Coast News has requested a mugshot for Guarino.
