Multiple agencies respond to vacant unit fire in Urbana

URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — Four local fire departments responded to a fire at a vacant unit in a single story duplex Wednesday morning in Urbana.

At approximately 5:19 a.m., the Carroll Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at 2002 Prairie View Drive. Upon arrival, firefighters found the fire was actually happening at 2004 Prairie View Drive

The fire broke out in a vacant unit at the single story duplex. The residents of the occupied side of the structure were able to evacuate, and no injuries were reported.

Carroll Fire was able to extinguish the fire with help from the Savoy Village Fire Department, Eastern Prairie Fire Protection District and Edge-Scott Fire Protection District. There is no further information at this time.

WCIA followed up with the Carroll Fire Department for more information but did not immediately hear back.
