UPDATE – Virginia Congressman John McGuire says deputies have been shot in Pittsylvania County.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the deputies who were shot in Pittsylvania County, as well as their families. We are closely following the situation and keeping everyone affected in our hearts during this difficult time.” said the 5th District Representative on the social media site X.

PITTSYLVANIA CO., Va (WFXR) — Law enforcement agencies from multiple surrounding localities are responding to a road in Pittsylvania County, according to eye witnesses near the scene.

It was described to WFXR News reporter George Noleff as a “huge police presence” with multiple agencies responding on Pittsville Road.
