THOMSON, Ga () – High school football season has kicked off in the CSRA, with fans returning to the Brickyard to cheer on the Thomson Bulldogs against the Evans Knights.

The return of Football Friday Night has brought excitement to Thomson, where the Bulldogs played their first home game of the season.

The stadium was filled with enthusiastic supporters eager to witness the action and enjoy the community spirit.

“We’re really excited because it’s a big tradition in Thomson, we’re both graduates of Thomson High School so it’s always been a tradition for us,” said Jennie Gheesling, a parent of a Thomson High School cheerleader.

Megan Prescott, another parent of a Thomson High School cheerleader, shared, “Definitely watching our cheerleaders because our girls are both cheerleaders so definitely watching them is one of my top favorites.”

Students at Thomson High School are also thrilled about the football season. Alayna Harris, a student, expressed her excitement about the people and the school spirit, saying, “The people. Just seeing them so excited and seeing the school spirit come back.”

Emily Ingram, another student, added, “It’s a very spirited school, it’s fun to be here with your friends.”

Martel Reese, who helps cook at the games, enjoys the lively atmosphere, stating, “Seeing all the kids with the different looks of football and you get to enjoy them coming out and enjoy the fans coming out just to enjoy football.”
