A 17-year-old boy is in serious condition after being shot in a targeted attack at a Long Island house party on Friday night, according to police.
The teen was shot several times shortly after 11:15 p.m. on 11th Street in West Babylon, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.
The individual suffering from multiple gunshot wounds was transported to a local hospital in serious condition. Authorities from Suffolk County have indicated that the person appeared to be specifically targeted by the shooter.
Neighbors were shocked by the violence and said they watched in horror as the victim’s friend attempted to revive his fallen pal.
“The young man on the lawn looked very pale. I was unsure where he had been hit, so I kept wondering, ‘Will he be alright?’ It was really distressing,” Angela Knice shared with News 12.
“His friend was there with him like, ‘Stay with me, stay awake.’ He was really there for him. It was crazy.”
Knice said she initially thought the sound of gunshots was fireworks, News 12 reported.
The home where the party popped off has been a problem in the area for years, according to neighbors.
An eviction notice was issued to the four families living at the property back in June, according to the outlet.
No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting and the investigation is ongoing.
