Glynn County police say it happened just before 11:30 p.m. Thursday at the parking lot of the Dash Food Mart on Newcastle Street.
GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. — Three teens have been arrested following a carjacking that left a man with a gunshot wound to his leg, according to the Glynn County Police Department (GCPD).
Officers say they responded to the incident just before 11:30 p.m. Thursday at the parking lot of the Dash Food Mart on Newcastle Street. After arriving, crews with Glynn County Fire Rescue provided emergency medical aid to the victim, who was then taken to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Details are limited at this time, but police say one of the teens, age 17, was found in possession of a handgun during the arrest. The handgun was reported stolen in an unrelated entering auto incident.
GCPD says the three teens who were arrested in connection to the carjacking are facing multiple charges, including:
- Hijacking a motor vehicle
- Aggravated assault
- Possession of a firearm during the commission of a certain crimes
- possession of a handgun by a person under 18
- Party to the crime of motor vehicle hijacking
- Party to the crime of aggravated assault
- False statements and writings
- Possession of stolen property (firearm)
- Possession of a handgun by a person under 18
- Party to the crime of a motor vehicle hijacking
- Party to the crime of aggravated assault
- False statements and writings
First Coast News is not identifying the teens at this time due to their age and the nature of their charges.
An investigation is ongoing.
