A 20-year-old woman has been killed in an alleged domestic violence murder in the NSW Hunter region.
A 31-year-old man was arrested this morning at Rutherford in Maitland, charged later in the day with murder and remanded in custody to face court tomorrow.
Police were called to the home about 4.45am today following reports of an assault and arrived to find the woman unresponsive with serious facial injuries.
Paramedics tried to save her but she could not be revived.
It’s understood the man had called triple zero.
“The male and the female were known to each other, and have been in a domestic relationship for about 12 months or slightly over,” Superintendent Wayne Humphrey said.
The 31-year-old is due to face court tomorrow morning an a charge of murder DV.
