(WJW) – Two long-gone items from the KFC menu are making their “triumphant” return on August 18 — including one that was discontinued over five years ago.
Last week, KFC announced plans to put its Potato Wedges back on the menu, reportedly in response to “thousands” of customers demanding they come back, KFC wrote in a press release. The wedges were discontinued in the summer of 2020, when they were replaced with KFC’s Signature Recipe Fries.
“This isn’t just a nostalgic nod. It’s an example of how we’re turning feedback into action as we chart our Kentucky Fried Comeback, a bold, brand-wide rally to give people more reasons to fall in love with us all over again,” Catherine Tan-Gillespie, the president of KFC U.S., was quoted as saying in a recent press release.
KFC later shared the good news with its X followers, sharing an image of a potato wedge and simply writing, “HERE, DAMN.”
“This better not be a joke,” one fan on X responded.
“I’m ashamed of how happy this makes me,” another said.

In addition to wedges, KFC is bringing back its Hot & Spicy Wings, which were removed from the menu two years ago, according to the company. Customers can order the new items together in a six-piece Wings & Wedges combo or a larger Wings & Wedges Fan Favorite Box.
Both the wings and wedges are available “while supplies last,” KFC said.
Last week, KFC also asked customers to share their feedback on which additional items they’d like to see make a “comeback,” and folks on social media have already suggested everything from Honey BBQ Wings to KFC Go Cups. One even demanded the return of KFC’s Little Bucket Parfait cups, which were on the menu for decades before being discontinued.
“You bring this back, you win me for life,” one fan wrote.
