SAVANNAH, Ga. () — A former Army soldier was sentenced to life in prison on Tuesday after sexually abusing a child 12 years ago.
In December of 2013, Mississippi native, Cedrick Demon Robinson, 42, sexually abused a then 9-year-old child by “fondling with the child’s genitals.”
Four years later, Robinson requested a 15-year-old juvenile to text him a sexually explicit photograph.
Following a jury trial in the Southern District of Georgia, Robinson was convicted of aggravated sexual abuse of a child and attempted production of a visual depiction of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
Robinson was sentenced to life in prison, the maximum for each charge.
The case was investigated by the Army Criminal Investigation Division at Fort Stewart and prosecuted for the United States by the Southern District of Georgia Assistant United States Attorneys Michael Z. Spitulnik and Darron J. Hubbard.
