LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The father of an NBA player is facing charges in a Las Vegas stabbing over a parking spot, the 8 News Now Investigators have learned.

Las Vegas Metro police arrested Quenton Marselles Brown, 57, on Wednesday night after the incident at the All American Sports Park in the west valley. He is the father of NBA player Jaylen Brown, who helped lead the Boston Celtics to a championship title in 2024.

The stabbing occurred around 5:45 p.m. during a fight at the park, which is located on South Buffalo Drive near West Charleston Boulevard.

Witnesses told police a “door ding” led to the altercation, and Brown allegedly stabbed the victim several times, according to documents the 8 News Now Investigators obtained.

The victim’s girlfriend told police Brown parked next to them and then “hit [their] driver’s door with the front passenger door of [his] SUV,” documents said. “[The victim] exited to look for any damage, and [Brown] was immediately confrontational before [the victim] said anything. The male told [the victim] it was just a bump, and called [the victim] a b**** a**. As the male walked away, [the victim] slapped a side mirror on the SUV.”

Police detained Brown near U.S. 95 and Decatur Boulevard after the stabbing, they said. Police did not recover the weapon.

“Brown had abrasions on his knees, and his face was bleeding,” documents said. “He spontaneously uttered that this was all over a door ding without being asked any questions by patrol officers.”

Police took Brown, a former heavyweight boxer, to the Clark County Detention Center, where he faces one count of attempted murder.

Medical personnel took the victim to a local hospital in critical condition. Police said he needed surgery.

Brown was previously arrested in Henderson in 2016 on a charge of battery resulting in substantial bodily harm, police said.

Brown was denied bail and was scheduled to make his first court appearance Thursday afternoon.
