A man has been charged after police allegedly uncovered a clandestine lab and $7.6 million worth of methylamphetamine in Sydney’s south.

Officers executed a search warrant at a home on the Princes Highway in Heathcote at 4pm on Wednesday.

They searched the home as part of an investigation into a 48-year-old man who had allegedly been involved in the manufacture and supply of meth.

Police seized approximately 76 kilograms of methylamphetamine from the home, worth an estimated $7.6 million.

They also found items to make drugs with, including equipment and chemicals. 

A 48-year-old man was arrested at the home and taken to Sutherland Police Station.

He has been charged with several offences, including two counts of supplying a prohibited drug, conducting a drug premises, drug possession and other offences.

He was refused police bail and appeared in Sutherland Local Court on Thursday.

He was then formally refused bail and will reappear in court on October 21.
