AUGUSTA, Ga. () – United Way of the CSRA is setting a bold new goal for its annual campaign.
This year’s campaign theme is “United Is The Way” with a focus not just on fundraising, but long-term impact.
The goal is to help thousands of Asset Limited Income Restrained Employed (ALICE) households by 2030.
These are families who work but still struggle to cover rent, childcare, and transportation.
“The need is huge. And so, what we will announce today is that our goal is to help 30,000 of our families by the year 2030. That’s a huge, impactful goal, but it’s really way more important than a dollar bill is the impact,” said Brittany Burnett, president and CEO of United Way of the CSRA. “That’s what we as a community want to see. How are we helping families who are struggling? That’ll make our community thrive.”
United Way says nearly half the households in its 13-county region fall into that category.
NewsChannel 6’s own Brad Means and Jennie Montgomery served as the emcee for the event.
