Harry Styles set to start work on mega-mansion

Harry Styles is gearing up to break ground on his £30million mega-renovation next month – a project that won’t be completed until late 2027.

The former One Direction singer, right, is combining two luxury homes on a private estate in Hampstead, north London, into one jaw-dropping pad, complete with four bedrooms, gym, cinema, art gallery and staff quarters.

After months of wrangling with planning authorities, thanks to the area’s conservation rules, Harry, 31, got the green light in April.

But work has been delayed due to further ecological surveys and meticulous construction plans. In this part of town, even the paint colour needs council sign-off.

New documents show his team of consultants is hard at work ticking boxes, including delicate negotiations over local wildlife.

One recent survey flagged a feral pigeon nest, fox holes and even bat activity. If bats are found, all work must stop while Harry applies for a special licence from Natural England.

He’s also had to co-ordinate with celebrity neighbour Cat Deeley, who is renovating a property nearby. They have reportedly held meetings and distributed leaflets to ensure neighbours stay on-side and disruption is minimal.

One document states that they will ‘liaise with contractors completing work on other local sites with the aim of pro-actively managing the cumulative impacts of local construction projects’.

The document also promises to ‘co-ordinate activities whenever possible to minimise potential disruption to local residents’.

Noise is a major concern, and the singer has had to be mindful of the loud din made by building machinery. He’s had to fit ‘acoustic enclosures to suppress noisy equipment’.

Styles has also promised to use equipment with electric engines instead of petrol-driven ones.

The whole thing is due to be complete in October 2027… unless unforeseen problems mean the project heads in the wrong direction, that is.

…as Lewis buys two in the same neighbourhood

Pop star Lewis Capaldi will be able to count Harry Styles as a neighbour after snapping up two houses in Hampstead – one for pleasure and one for leisure.

The first property is where he hosts friends, throws parties and no doubt belts out the odd late-night ballad.

The other, just a stone’s throw away, is his safe haven, where the star can relax. As for interiors?

Lewis has reportedly enlisted the help of members’ club Soho House to do the heavy lifting after admitting he has no sense of style.

 Is Posh in Vogue?

A new name has entered the frame to replace Anna Wintour as editor-in-chief of American Vogue – Victoria Beckham.

A clutch of fashionistas are talking up her chances of landing the coveted role. One source tells me: ‘Victoria’s seen as an arbiter of sartorial taste and style. And Anna admires her, which counts for an enormous amount.

‘She brings with her a legion of worldwide fans and has other designers and photographers in her back pocket.’

Fashion watchers also note how Posh, right with Anna, is even channelling Ms Wintour – famed for her bob – with her own version of the hairdo.

 Camilla’s teeth-clenching photo finish

Like many racing fans, the Queen can find the going gets tense when a favoured horse enters the final furlong.

Camilla was clearly gripped by the action yesterday after enjoying several days at the annual Ebor Festival at York Racecourse.

She was there with her former sister-in-law, the Countess of Halifax, ex-wife of Richard Parker Bowles, younger brother of the Queen’s former husband Andrew Parker Bowles.

The Queen became a patron of York Racecourse in June last year. Her appearance at the races came only days after she and King Charles took up their summer residence at Balmoral.

◆ Madonna pedalling through Hyde Park, proving that at 67 she’s still got plenty of energy.

◆ Rita Ora, right, at a hot Pilates class in Notting Hill, sweating it out after husband Taika Waititi’s 50th birthday bash in Ibiza.

◆ James Norton cycling down Bond Street. A hint, perhaps, that he’s gearing up for a role that shares the road’s name?

‘Once you get your hand in…’ says the former Bake Off queen, right, with a wry smile.

She loves the crisps so much one of her friends gifted her a personalised tube of barbecue flavoured Pringles for her 90th birthday.

Word reaches me that Amazon boss Jeff Bezos could be funnelling funds into 72, the glossy new magazine launched by ex-Vogue editor Edward Enninful.

Insiders whisper the move may be less for Bezos and more of a project for his new wife, Lauren Sanchez.

With Bezos bringing the billions and former journalist Lauren eyeing the bylines, this could be the most high-flying media launch yet.
