TUSCOLA, Ill. (WCIA) — Warrior senior runner Kate Foltz is back for one last season in Tuscola, looking to take her team back to state while also leaving a mark on the program.

Foltz set a new personal record at the Class 1A state finals during her junior season, finishing in 15:59.40 to win the state title. She returns to the program as the lone senior on the team, eager to share some of what she has learned with the next generation of Warrior runners.

“I feel like just taking a day at a time really is the best way to do it because it just becomes a chore,” said Foltz. “If you put pressure on yourself and you think about, you know, how many days you have left, all the meets and if you’re putting pressure on yourself to always do good and sort of just try your best, it like, it can really put a lot of stress on you. So just, you know, tell people like, don’t even think about the meet tomorrow. Just get to the practice and then, you know, like just focus on each moment and the results will come.”

Tuscola’s season begins at the Doc Acklin Invitational in Paris on August 30, with all eyes on the state finals on November 8 at Detweiller Park.
