Police say Brandon Engeloff, 32, is facing second-degree murder, accessory after the fact and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man has been arrested in connection to a fatal shooting that took place nearly four months ago on Jacksonville’s Westside.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) says Brandon Engeloff, 32, is facing second-degree murder, accessory after the fact and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

At around 6:30 a.m. April 15, officers had responded to a call about a shooting on the 2900 block of Ernest Street.

When they arrived, JSO says officers found the victim, 33-year-old Christopher Cam, suffering from gunshot wounds. First responders with the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department responded to the scene and took the Cam to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.

The medical examiner eventually ruled that his cause of death was a homicide, the sheriff’s office said. At the time, detectives said were able to speak to witnesses and searched for surveillance video in the area during their investigation.

JSO said the the investigation led detectives to identify Engeloff as a suspect. He was booked in Duval County Jail.
