A TODDLER is the only surviving child of a shocking family murder-suicide that left his sibling and father dead.

The disturbing case unfolded inside a home in New Hampshire earlier this month.

Authorities say Emily Long, 34, shot her husband and two of their children before turning the gun on herself.

Her youngest child, a three-year-old toddler, was spared and is now being cared for by his grandparents and an aunt after being uninjured in the family’s home.

A fundraiser on GoFundMe has been launched to support the surviving toddler as he grows up without his parents and siblings.

Loved ones say donations will go towards his education, therapy, and “any additional needs as he grows into the young man his parents and siblings would be proud of.”

The mother of three killed Ryan Long, 48, their son Parker, 8, and their daughter Ryan, 6.

Autopsies revealed the children were shot in the head, while Ryan was struck multiple times.

Emily then died from a single gunshot wound to the head, which was ruled a suicide.

The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Officials said people should avoid speculation, stressing the family had “various concerns” at the time.

Emily had spoken openly about those struggles on TikTok in the months before the killings.

Heartbreak as surviving toddler is found in Madbury home with bodies of two adults and two children

She often told her 6,400 followers she felt “lonely” and “anxious” while her husband battled what friends said was terminal brain cancer.

Ryan, a school psychologist, was reportedly bedridden and undergoing chemotherapy in the weeks leading up to his death.

Emily used her TikTok videos as a digital diary, explaining the difficulties of caring for the children and preparing them for their father’s decline.

Two weeks before the tragedy, she admitted she needed help before it was “too late.”

Attorney General’s statement

On August 20, the New Hampshire Department of Justice released the following statement:

“Attorney General John M. Formella, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Mark B. Hall, and Madbury Police Department Chief Joseph McGann announce that autopsies have been completed on the bodies of Ryan Long (48), Emily Long (34), Parker Long (8), and Ryan Long (6) discovered inside their home in Madbury on Monday August 18, 2025.

“Associate Chief Medical Examiner Abigail Alexander conducted autopsies today on both minors Parker Long and Ryan Long.  Dr. Alexander determined that both children’s causes of death were single gunshot wounds of the head, and their manners of death are homicide.

“Chief Medical Examiner Jennie V. Duval conducted autopsies on both adults, Ryan Long and Emily Long.  Dr. Duval determined that Mr. Long’s cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds, and his manner of death is homicide.  Dr. Duval determined that Emily Long’s cause of death was a single gunshot wound of the head, and her manner of death is suicide.

“Based upon the information available at this time, it appears that in the early morning hours of Monday, August 18, 2025, Ms. Long took a handgun from the home and caused the deaths of Ryan Long and her two children, Parker and Ryan, and then took her own life immediately thereafter.  While investigators are becoming aware of various concerns/issues ongoing in the household at the time of the event in question, people should avoid speculating that this event was caused by a single reason or stressor.

“Citizens in crisis are reminded that they can call, text or chat with the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 9-8-8, or contact the Crisis Text Line by texting TALK to 741741.

“No further information is expected to be released at this time.”

“I know that I will [get help] one day, and I hope that I make the decision before I feel that it’s too late,” she said in one clip.

In her final post, she vowed to make a conscious effort to change her mindset and fight her depression.

“Today I decided I need to make a conscious effort to shift my mindset. I’m getting out of this depression whether I want to or not,” she said.

Other videos showed her crying in her car, overwhelmed and fearful of what life would look like as a single mom.

She admitted she was “withering away” and not ready to see a therapist.

Just last week, she said her husband had suffered seizures and revealed she was practicing 911 drills with her children.

Her social media also showed tender moments, including one video where her young daughter asked if her dad was “done resting yet.”

But neighbors said outwardly, the family appeared happy.

“It was a perfect family as far as we knew. It’s just shocking. We didn’t see it coming,” neighbor Beverly Ketel told CBS affiliate WBZ-TV.

Hours before the murders, Emily saved nail and clothing inspirations on Pinterest.

The toddler’s survival has baffled those who knew the family.

“I don’t know why she spared him,” a friend said. “I can’t make sense of it.”
