President Trump called for Cracker Barrel to revert to its previous logo amidst strong backlash from fans upset by the Southern dining chain’s “woke” rebranding.
“Cracker Barrel should return to the old logo, acknowledge the mistake based on customer feedback (the ultimate Poll), and manage the company better than ever before,” Trump shared in a Truth Social post on Tuesday.
“They have an opportunity for a Billion Dollars worth of free publicity if they handle this correctly. It’s a very tricky situation, but a remarkable chance,” he noted, emphasizing the need to “Make Cracker Barrel a WINNER again.”
Cracker Barrel – known for its Southern fixins like grits and biscuits – has ditched its old-timey decor in favor of white paint and fewer tchotchkes, and scrubbed fan-favorites like folksy farmer Uncle Herschel from its logo.
The president’s demand sent shares in the embattled company soaring 4% by approximately 11:00 a.m. ET – after the stock had slumped about 15% over the past month.
