The Most Bizarre Details in Will Smith’s AI-Generated Crowd Video

Will Smith recently ignited a firestorm online after sharing a tour promo video, ostensibly capturing emotional fans and packed venues. Viewers quickly flagged for unsettling AI artifacts. The clip, posted across YouTube and social platforms, features warped faces, eerie extra fingers, and distorted signage that betray the underlying photo-to-video manipulation behind the footage. While the crowds depicted were real attendees from venues like Switzerland’s Paléo Festival and France’s Théâtre Antique d’Orange, the visuals appear to have been animated from still photographs using AI tools. Here are the most bizarre details in the AI-generated crowd.

Will Smith tried to hype up his summer tour with a video of him singing to a packed crowd. The clip depicts him rapping his song, “You Can Make It,” featuring Fridayy and Sunday Service Choir. As he enthusiastically takes the stage and raps the track, which came out in 2024, the people in the audience go wild. The camera pans over their faces as they watch Smith’s performance, completely in awe. Several concertgoers in the crowd hold inspirational signs.

“My favorite part of tour is seeing you all up close,” Smith’s caption reads. “Thank you for seeing me too.”

Unfortunately, viewers quickly noticed something was off with the clip. Faces appeared blurry and melted, hands sprouted extra fingers, and audience signs contained garbled, nonsensical text. In some frames, people’s arms seemed to vanish into one another or bend at impossible angles — classic giveaways of AI-generated animation.

Fans were quick to call out Smith for trying to pull one over on everyone watching the clip.

“It’s over, bro. Just enjoy your retirement,” one fan commented on the YouTube video.

“It’s equal parts embarrassing as it is hilarious,” another fan wrote. “AI crowd to top it off as well. Sad as hell lol.”

“Imagine being this rich and famous and having to use AI footage of crowds and bot comments on your video,” another fan wrote. “Tragic, man. You used to be cool.”

The most bizarre details in Will Smith’s video

Fans were quick to notice how Will Smith utilized AI to create the crowd in his YouTube clip. And fans on Reddit dissected the clip even further, pulling out the strangest details they could find from the fake crowd.

First, the signs held up by the fake concertgoers were a dead giveaway. One man looks somber as he holds up a sign that reads, “‘You Can Make It’ helped me survive cancer. Thx Will.”

Yet another confusing sign reads, “From West Philly to West Swiggy, we heart you, Willy.”

Another portion of the clip shows a child holding up a sign that reads, “Now this is a story about how you changed my sons life can he come on stage please.”

Yet another woman held up a sign that said, “Take us back to Bel-Air.”

Again, another sign reads, “Lov u Fresh Prince” — with “lov” spelled incorrectly.

Finally, the strangest sign reads, “2 bad weather, people at Paleo, 2 night will be a storm.”

Another fan took a screenshot of a small child at the concert. The child wore a baseball cap with a blue rim and had a completely distorted face.

Will Smith’s AI-generated video has his fans wondering if the rapper’s comments are real or fake. Smith posted a clip from his show in Scarborough. And several fans are questioning the authenticity.

“Yo, Scarborough, it was CRAZY in there last night,” Smith captioned the video. “It felt like Home. I consider myself a ScarBro.”

Several fans left positive comments on the video. But others aren’t so sure.

“Are these also AI-generated comments?” one fan commented.

“So I’m guessing @willsmith made an AI of himself talking to a fan,” yet another fan wrote. “At this point, you all won’t be able to tell what’s real or fake ….”
