New crime scene photos give a chilling glimpse into college student Xana Kernodle’s last meal before Bryan Kohberger broke into her shared off-campus home and murdered her and three other University of Idaho students.
The photos, recently released by Idaho State Police and obtained by .
She later heard what she believed was Xana crying and a male voice say, “It’s okay, I’m going to help you.”
Mortensen poked her head out of her bedroom at one point and saw a masked man, dressed in all black, carrying something in his hand as he left the house, leaving her and another roommate Bethany Funke unharmed.
Surveillance footage captured the white vehicle later linked to Kohberger racing out of the parking lot at 4:20 a.m.
The images of Xana’s final meal are just a few of the more than 375 photos released by police of the crime scene after Kohberger’s guilty plea. The photos show the home’s common areas and paint a picture of a quintessential college life.
In one photo, a long white table is set up for beer pong, while others show empty boxes that once held alcohol. There are also images of a large black couch, with white Christmas lights strewn up on the wall.
In the kitchen, just above the food delivery bag and a window, hangs a sign reading, “This Is Our Happy Place.”
Kohberger pleaded guilty to the murders in July as part of a plea deal that sparred him the death penalty.
