Chelsea are prepared to sanction a loan with an obligation to buy for Nicolas Jackson should a permanent transfer fail to be agreed, talkSPORT understands.

The Blues have informed interested clubs a £10million loan fee is required.

German giants Bayern Munich are one of the front-runners for Jackson’s signature but face competition from the likes of Aston Villa, Newcastle and AC Milan.

Jackson has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge following the summer signings of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, who have both enjoyed starts in Chelsea’s opening two Premier League fixtures.

Unfortunately for Jackson, Pedro and Delap’s arrival has meant he wasn’t included in the matchday squad for either fixture.

How Jackson’s mooted exit fits into Chelsea’s transfer plans

It has left the Senegal international facing an uncertain future at the club just two years after he joined for £32m from Villarreal.

Further muddying the waters of Jackson’s fate is the Blues’ continued pursuit of Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho and RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons.

talkSPORT understands Chelsea are still in conversation with Garnacho, with the belief a deal can be struck before the September 1 deadline.

Chelsea have tested the waters with a number of bids for Garnacho, who has already agreed terms with the club, although all have been rejected to date as the Red Devils hold out for £50m.

As for Simons, the Blues are yet to land a club-to-club agreement for the Dutch flyer.

However, the Bundesliga outfit are locked in talks with Chelsea outcast Christopher Nkunku, which could pave the way for Simons to move in the opposite direction.

How does Jackson fit into Bayern’s plans?

Given Bayern’s heavy interest in Jackson, Nkunku may not be the only Chelsea player heading to Germany.

Although there may be the opportunity of a fresh start at the reigning Bundesliga champions, Jackson could face an uphill battle to break into Bayern’s starting line-up.

From two competitive games this season, Bayern boss Vincent Kompany has operated with a front four of Harry Kane, Michael Olise, Serge Gnabry and Luis Diaz, who they signed from Liverpool for £65.5m this summer.

In those fixtures, which included a German Cup victory over Stuttgart and a six-goal mauling of Leipzig, Kane netted four times while Diaz and Olise have each scored twice.

Given Jackson has spent the majority of his career as a striker, it appears unlikely he will unseat Kane from his role as Bayern’s starter up top.

However, with Bayern to compete across multiple fronts this season, additional firepower will certainly be needed.

What have Bayern said about the Jackson pursuit?

Despite the rampant rumours linking Jackson to the German giants, Bayern sporting diector Christoph Freund has largely kept his cards close to his chest when pressed on whether a move is in the offing.

“I’m not denying anything,” Freund said.

“There are a lot of names floating around. The transfer window is open until next Monday, and anything can still happen before then.”

Should Jackson’s departure eventuate, it means his last contribution was a 30-minute cameo in Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Fluminense in the Club World Cup semi-final.

During that game, Jackson was torn into by Blues teammate Cole Palmer after he failed to square the ball to the superstar, who would have had a tap-in.

That wasn’t the only low-light of Jackson’s time at the Club World Cup, as he was sent off after just four minutes of action against Flamengo following a shocking challenge on Ayrton Lucas.
