Selena Gomez is excited for friend Taylor Swift to enter her bridal era.

“When bestie gets engaged 🥰,” Gomez, 33, wrote via her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, August 27, while resharing Swift and Travis Kelce’s internet-breaking engagement post.

Gomez also included the song “You’re My Best Friend” by Queen in her post.

In a subsequent story, Gomez also shared a screenshot of a resurfaced tweet Swift, now 35, sent her 16 years ago with advice about looking for love.

“Real love still happens sometimes,” Swift tweeted to Gomez in 2009. “It’s not just something we make up when we’re nine. I have to believe that. You do too.”

Swift and Gomez formed a friendship in the late 2000s, when they dated members of the Jonas Brothers. Swift was briefly linked to Joe Jonas, while Gomez was in an on-and-off relationship with Nick Jonas.

“We were young. We all know and love each other now and it’s so cute,” Gomez said during an August episode of “Therapuss With Jake Shane” podcast. “We didn’t know what we were doing [at the time]. But, yeah, she and I like to say the best thing we got out of those relationships was each other.”

Nearly two decades later, both Swift and Gomez are happily in love and engaged. Gomez got engaged to Benny Blanco in December 2024 after a year of dating.

“Forever begins now,” the Only Murders in the Building star wrote via Instagram at the time, alongside a photo of her engagement ring.

Blanco, 37, gushed about his bride-to-be, writing in the comments section, “Hey wait … that’s my wife.”

Following the couple’s happy news, Swift sent her congratulations to Gomez and Blanco while jokingly volunteering to take on a role in their nuptials.

“Yes I will be the flower girl,” Swift teased.

The following year, Swift and Kelce, 35, announced their engagement after two years of dating.

“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” the couple shared in a joint Instagram post on Tuesday, August 26. Gomez initially “liked” the post.

Earlier this week, Gomez had her bachelorette party in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Gomez was spotted on a yacht with longtime friends Raquelle Stevens, Ashley Cook and Courtney Lopez.

“It was a very fun but chill weekend,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly of the special girls trip. “These girls have been close to her for over a decade now, so it meant the world to her to celebrate these moments with them.”
