Find out how the Prince and Princess of Wales reacted to the news that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are getting married.
With one Instagram post, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce literally had people in every corner of the globe reacting to the news that they are engaged.
The post, which featured a carousel of photos including the moment the Kansas City Chiefs tight end proposed to the “Karma” artist, received over 10 million likes in the first hour after it was shared. It more than tripled that number within the first 24 hours it was up.
Everyone from Swifties to the NFL to other celebrities liked the post, and the royals were no exception. Prince William and the Princess of Wales’ (formerly known as Kate Middleton) Instagram account liked the Kelce and Swift’s engagement announcement as well.
Fans may recall that Swift and the Prince of Wales have known each other for years, and made headlines back in 2013 when they sang together with Jon Bon Jovi at a charity dinner. Then in 2024, William was seen attending Swift’s concert with two of his children, Princess Charlotte and Prince George.
The three received the royal treatment to hang out with Swift and Kelce backstage after the show. Swift shared a photo from the night on X along with a birthday wish for William.
Travis later talked about what it was like meeting the future king and his kids during an episode of his New Heights podcast.
“Dude, [Prince William] was the coolest motherf*****. He was awesome,” Kelce said. “He was so cool. I didn’t realize this until obviously we were backstage meeting him because he was there with little George and Charlotte, and they were an absolute delight to meet.”
