1,400 pound black steer stolen in Whiteside County

The Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of a 1,400 black steer from a farm in rural Whiteside County, between Morrison and Fulton.

Investigators believe the steer was stolen within the last few days. Deputies are actively pursuing leads, including canvassing the area and reviewing surveillance footage.

“The theft of livestock is not only a serious financial loss to our farmers, but it’s a crime that impacts the backbone of our rural community,” said Whiteside County Sheriff John Booker. “We are committed to pursuing every lead to recover this steer and hold those responsible accountable.”
