BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. () — An investigation into multiple shootings resulted in the arrest of eight people and the seizure of drugs and firearms by the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Task Force on Friday.
The investigation linked the eight suspects to multiple shootings and illegal drug activity, as well as a home in the 1000 block of Ribaut Road in Port Royal.
The shootings occurred in Burton, on St. Helena Island and in Port Royal.
A search warrant execution Friday led to the arrest and charges for the following:
- Donnell Polite – trafficking fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession of methamphetamine and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
- Crystal R. Evans – trafficking fentanyl, sale and distribution of crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession of methamphetamine and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
- Brandon R. Parker – trafficking fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
- Jermel V. James – trafficking fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
- Elijah K. Clark – possession of methamphetamine.
- Chavis A. Mathis – possession of methamphetamine.
- Robyn S. Goodwine – possession of methamphetamine.
- Julianna M. Warren – possession of methamphetamine.
The Port Royal Police Department assisted in the investigation and execution of the search warrant.
