Five men as young as 16 have been arrested after allegedly breaking into a home in Sydney’s west and sparking a chase in a stolen car which saw a police car struck.

They allegedly forced their way into the house in Adah Street, Guildford with police called just after midnight today.

Four people inside were not hurt.

The car continued onto the M4 Motorway and Reservoir Road, Prospect when it did a u-turn and hit a marked police car. (Nine)

Police later saw a vehicle linked to the home invasion in nearby Blaxcell Street, Granville.

A chase was sparked when it failed to pull over.

It continued onto the M4 Motorway and Reservoir Road, Prospect when it did a u-turn and hit a marked police car.

The people inside allegedly attempted to run but were arrested.

An 18-year old was taken to hospital with a suspected broken arm.

He remains there under police guard.

The others – two men aged 18 and two boys aged 16 and 17 – were taken to Granville Police Station as investigations continue.

The vehicle was allegedly stolen from Kensington on August 6.
