PIERSON, Fla. – A man was shot by his co-worker Friday evening in Pierson, according to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded around 6:20 p.m. to the 600 block of Glenhaven Avenue, where they located the victim conscious and alert in the driver’s seat of a minivan, the sheriff’s office said on social media. The man’s co-worker had allegedly walked up to the vehicle before shooting the man and running away, the post states.

Body-worn camera video shared by the sheriff’s office shows a deputy keeping pressure on the man’s wound until emergency medical services arrived. The man was taken to a hospital, where he was in serious but stable condition and is expected to fully recover, according to the post.

The shooter had not been located as of around 8:30 a.m. Saturday, the post states.
