Scheana Shay is addressing the ongoing claims of hypocrisy she’s faced after revealing she hid husband Brock Davies‘ affair from the cameras amid Vanderpump Rules season 11 — while pushing Ariana Madix to speak up about her ex-boyfriend Tom Sandoval‘s infidelity.

As she also revealed where she stands with Ariana, 40, Katie Maloney, 38, and Pandora Sabo, 39, shared if she believed Lisa Vanderpump, 64, ever truly cared about her, and explained why she would rather speak about Brock’s cheating on The Valley, Scheana, 40, admitted that she understands why her decision to keep her personal life off the show has been upsetting to viewers.

“I see the frustration, I see the hypocrisy. I absolutely understand that. At the time, I just felt I was in survival mode,” Scheana explained on a recent episode of the Morally Corrupt podcast, via Vanderpod Recaps on Instagram. “As much as I wanted to confide in my best friend, I knew she was still going through so much … and I didn’t want to trauma dump on her.”

According to Scheana, she chose not to film her heartbreak because she needed more time to process Brock’s affair.

“I will not apologize to anyone for not giving them that part of my life at that time, because it wasn’t the right time. Whatever my future in reality TV is, I’m sure you will hear a lot about all of this, but it wasn’t the right time or the right place,” she stated.

After agreeing that sharing her behind-the-scenes drama could’ve gotten the original cast members a 12th season of Pump Rules, Scheana said she felt the series was not “the place to tell that story.”

“I think a show like The Valley that focuses on more family postpartum mental health, I think that is a safer space for something like this,” she reasoned.

As for whether she’s open to joining the show in an extended role, Scheana said she would “if it’s the right fit.”

“Because here’s the thing: If I say, ‘Yes, I want to be on it,’ ’She’s so desperate, she just wants to be on the show,’ and I’m like, ‘It makes sense for me to be on the show. These are my friends,’” she declared.

Then reflecting on initial talks for The Valley, which began after season eight, Scheana said she planned to go “full on into” the new series before ultimately deciding to stay on Pump Rules due to a delay in production.

“I’m like, ‘I’m not going to pick a new show over an Emmy-nominated show,’” she shared.

While some fans have complained about there being too many Pump Rules alums on The Valley, Scheana pointed out that her being on the show “makes sense.”

“If I’m on The Valley, it’s because I’m wanted on The Valley, not because I’m wanting to be on The Valley. It’s because it makes sense. It’s because these are my legitimate friends from before there ever was The Valley,” she explained.

After confirming that she is still friends with Pandora, Scheana said her falling out with Lisa “sucks.”

“She was someone I looked up to for so many years. Someone I confided in, and someone I genuinely thought cared about me and my well-being. And, I mean, maybe I’m naive, but like I thought we were friends,” Scheana admitted.

Although she and Lisa were quite close when Pump Rules began, Scheana said she ultimately began feeling pressure to perform.

“Season after season, it was like, I have to do something or I’m gonna be off the show. And I felt like Lisa was always very protective of me and always wanted the best for me. But then as the seasons went on [things changed],” she explained. “I do genuinely think she has cared about me. [But] I think maybe she’s cared more about making a successful show.”

Scheana was especially hurt when Lisa appeared on Watch What Happens Live, and suggested she was nothing more than “one of 700 employees.”

“I’m like, ‘That’s hurtful because I did think you cared about me. And the biggest thing for me is when I had a miscarriage, and she never reached out,” Scheana noted.

Regarding her relationship with Ariana, Scheana said they only text “here and there” and haven’t spoken “in a couple months.”

“Friendships ebb and flow. And I think that with her and I, we both hurt each other without even realizing we were hurting each other, and now so much time has passed that it’s like we’re not working together anymore. So if we come back together, it’s because we personally want to, and I don’t know if she personally wants to,” Scheana explained.

As for Katie, Scheana said she last saw her in September at a music festival.

“We were backstage, met her boyfriend. I think I maybe ran into her outside of Something About Her once, but I don’t really see her or talk to her,” she shared.

Also on the podcast, after stating that her only regret about her book was not “[saying] more,” Scheana confirmed she no longer trusts Brock completely.

“I think I’m at 99 percent with him. [I] don’t know that we’ll ever get back to 100. I think he has done everything in his power to prove to me that he can be trusted again, and I don’t think he would be stupid enough to make that mistake again. I wanted to give him another chance because of our daughter. If she wasn’t in the picture, 99.9 percent, I would have had him pack his bags and leave,” she explained.
