() Two single-engine aircraft collided mid-air at a northeastern Colorado airport on Sunday.

The FAA said the planes a Cessna 172 and an Extra Flugzeugbau EA300 struck each other as both aircraft attempted to land at Fort Morgan Municipal Airport around noon local time.

There were two people aboard each plane, said the FAA, which will investigate along with the National Transportation Safety Board.

A photo taken by an FAA camera shows the airfield with a plume of dark smoke on the horizon. Fort Morgan is about 80 miles northeast of Denver.

There was no immediate word on whether anyone was killed or injured.

Television station Denver 7, citing the Morgan County sheriff, reported that at least one person sustained burns.
