CHICAGO (WLS) — Chicago police are warning local businesses about a string of crash-and-grab burglaries on the city’s South and West sides.

Police said the burglars have targeted businesses in the West Englewood, East Garfield Park, Bronzeville and South Shore neighborhoods.

In each incident, the thieves drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee into the business’ windows or doors before taking merchandise and fleeing the scene in the Jeep and other vehicles.

The burglaries have happened at the following times and locations:

  • 6900-block of South Ashland Ave. on Aug. 19 at 4:40 a.m.

  • 3200-block of West Chicago Ave. on Aug. 25 at 3:09 a.m.

  • 3300-block of South MLK Drive on Aug. 24 at 5:49 a.m.

  • 2100-block of East 71st street on Aug. 28 at 2:40 a.m.
