DENVER (KDVR) A man is in custody after he allegedly tried to run over his ex-girlfriend’s mother before crashing into her house on Sunday morning, according to a post on X from the Westminster Police Department.

Just before 10:45 a.m. on Sunday morning, officers responded to two separate reports of a vehicle crashing into a home in the Hyland Greens neighborhood of Westminster, Colorado, near Denver.

Preliminary information from the investigation indicates that a man crashed his car into the house of his ex-girlfriend’s mother and took off from the scene. Not long after, he reportedly drove into another house in an unrelated incident, police said.

After crashing into the second house, he returned to the home of his ex-girlfriend’s mother and allegedly tried to run her over multiple times before crashing the car into her house for a second time.

Neighbors intervened and detained the man until police arrived.

He was taken into custody and transported to a hospital for medical evaluation.

No serious injuries were reported to police.

Both houses that were crashed into are being assessed for structural damage, and an investigation remains ongoing.
