Khamryn Zyiel Johnson, 27, was charged in a five-count indictment with enticement of a minor to produce pornography and transmitting and receiving images of child pornography, according to court documents.
On May 22, the young 13-year-old girl was found dead by her mother in her bedroom in Gloucestershire, England.
She died a couple of days later.
According to court documents, the girl had been on a WhatsApp video call with Johnson before her mother found her.
Johnson and the girl had been texting on WhatsApp in the days leading up to her death. The conversations were sexually explicit, in which Johnson told the girl to “choke” and “torture” herself, according to court documents.
UK officials contacted the Department of Homeland Security regarding the girl’s death.
He was arrested in June, and is being held without bond, court records show.
Johnson is also accused of having other pornographic material of minors in his possession.
