Karen Huger is a free woman after serving just six months in prison.
After being sentenced to two years, with one suspended, earlier this year, the 62-year-old Real Housewives of Potomac star, who was found guilty of DUI in December 2024 after wrecking her Maserati months prior, was spotted leaving the facility where she was housed.
“She has been released,” a spokesperson for the Montgomery County Detention Center confirmed to Page Six on September 2.
As RHOP fans may recall, Karen, who had received four prior driving offenses, was seen in shocking bodycam footage after her arrest in which she slurred her words to police, described herself as Thomas Jefferson’s “concubine,” and gave a nod to her “Grande Dame” title.
Months later, on a season nine episode in March, Karen opened up about the clip.
“I’m sitting there in the courtroom, like, I have to finally watch it, because I kept saying, ‘Well, surely they made a mistake, right, because everything’s not connecting for me,’” Karen told her husband, Ray Huger, 79, at the time. “And I watched, and I’m telling you, I didn’t recognize that woman. I didn’t know her.”
Following the news of Karen’s arrest, the first photo of her was shared on X.
In another image, shared by news reporter Matthew Torres, a production crew was seen setting up, seemingly to capture footage of Karen for season 10.
A video was also shared in which Karen was seen in the back of an SUV.

Following Karen’s sentencing in February, Gizelle Bryant, 54, admitted she was “shook” by the idea that her castmate was behind bars before adding that she felt “very good” after learning she was “safe.”
“I have been in contact with someone that’s very close to her about her safety and all that,” she said on an April episode of Watch What Happens Live. “From what I understand, they love her up in where she is right now. They absolutely love her. They are loving the Grande Dame! And you know she’s running that thing.”
The Real Housewives of Potomac season 10 premieres on Sunday, October 5, at 8/7c on Bravo.
