JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A Middle Tennessee man is facing charges after authorities report he led deputies on a pursuit in Johnson City.
Deputies were patrolling West State of Franklin Road and University Parkway around 6 p.m. Sunday when they saw a red sport bike traveling at a high rate of speed, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office stated in a news release that the motorcycle nearly hit another vehicle and ran a red light before turning onto Jack Vest Drive. Deputies canceled the pursuit due to traffic in the area.
Deputies found that the motorcycle had crashed at the roundabout on Jack Vest Drive and stopped to check on the driver, identified as John Michael Clark, 23, of Brentwood, Tennessee.
After he was cleared by EMS, Clark was taken to the Washington County Detention Center. His bond was set at $11,000, which the sheriff’s office said he posted.
The sheriff’s office charged Clark with reckless endangerment, evading arrest, reckless driving, running a red light, and speeding.
