Dramatic footage captured the moment an allegedly drunk woman was hauled off a Qantas flight after she was accused of swearing and dancing in the aisle.

The 50-year-old woman was pulled off the plane, which was due to depart from Sydney and fly to Queenstown, New Zealand, in July.

She will appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday, with Australian Federal Police alleging she was intoxicated and ignored safety instructions.

She then allegedly swore at cabin crew and began dancing in the aisle as the plane began taxiing for takeoff.

The pilot was forced to abort the takeoff and return to the departure gate at Sydney Airport.

AFP officers boarded the plane at the pilot’s request.

They asked the woman to exit the plane before she allegedly became argumentative and refused to comply.

Police vision showed officers requesting the woman get off the plane.

‘We’re going around in circles, it’s time to get up,’ an officer said.

Officers then cuffed her on the floor of the boarding ramp before marching her back into the airport.

The accused was later released from custody and she returned to New Zealand the following day.

AFP Detective Acting Inspector Trevor Robinson said inconsiderate behaviour could lead to serious repercussions.

‘The alleged behaviour of this woman risked the safety of herself, passengers and crew, and in this case caused a delayed takeoff, which inconveniences everyone on board,’ he said.

‘Anyone misbehaving on a flight and not cooperating with law enforcement isn’t just spoiling their trip, but they are potentially ruining the travel plans of hundreds of other people.

‘They also face the possibility of a criminal conviction on their record for life.’

Police served her with a Court Attendance Notice for failing to comply with cabin crew’s safety instructions, an offence under the civil aviation code.

The woman faces a maximum penalty of a $16,500 fine and two years behind bars if found guilty of her charges
