() The father of missing baby Emmanuel Haro passed a child abuse class with top marks and was even praised for his parenting skills before his 7-month-old son disappeared.

Emmanuel is still missing and presumed dead after his mom claimed he was kidnapped from a store parking lot on Aug. 17. Both of his parents have been charged with his murder.

It was revealed Friday that Jake Haro was ordered to attend a child abuse program as part of a suspended sentence for a separate child abuse case in 2018, which left his then-10-month-old daughter permanently disabled.

According to The New York Post, two counselors overseeing Jake Haro praised his behavior in a report. Counselor Steven DeHay noted on July 18, 2024, that Jake Haro was “attentive, polite and appropriately interactive in class with other members and facilitators.

“He appears to have gained self-insight and awareness into his parenting style,” the report continued. “He appears to have benefited from this mandated class/program.”

Jake Haro got perfect score in child abuse class

DeHay gave Jake a perfect score, 7 out of 7, for attitude and in the category “child abuse.” He also received high scores in other categories, including “child welfare” and “parenting skills.”

Mirna Johnson, another counselor, said in a 2023 report that Jake Haro “reported that his discipline consists of logical and natural consequences, and he offers limited choices to teach decision making and democracy.”

“Mr. Haro shared that his children are motivated by positive reinforcement and that his limits are stable and only increase with the maturity of his children,” she wrote.

Johnson declared Jake’s likelihood of abusing a child to be “low,” per the report.

Jake and Rebecca Haro plead not guilty to murder

Jake Haro and his wife, Rebecca, the mother of Emmanuel, pleaded not guilty on Thursday to charges of murder and filing a false police report. A preliminary hearing is set for September 17.

Jake Haro has stated that his wife, Rebecca, is innocent and loves her children.

Emmanuel’s body has not yet been found despite Jake Haro joining investigators for a search in California.
