The 18-year-old actress, who has played Ashley Banks since the 2022 debut of Bel-Aire, took to Instagram to reflect on her journey and thank fans for supporting her throughout the series.

Akbar’s performance has been central to Ashley’s storyline, evolving her character for a new generation of fans.

“4 years!!? playing the role of Ashley has been such an unforgettable journey. i’m beyond thankful for all the love and support you’ve shown her over the years. i can’t thank you guys enough. this cast and crew has really become family. i’m forever grateful!”

Bel-Air is preparing to close its chapter with a fourth and final season, set to premiere on Peacock on Monday, November 24, 2025. Filming wrapped earlier this summer, and the streamer recently released a first look along with the official premiere date.

The upcoming season promises to tie together years of growth, drama, and reinvention within the Banks household. Per JustJared.com, following, is a brief synopsis of what to expect. 

Will is navigating the fun and pressure of senior year while Carlton wrestles with the fallout of major choices that could jeopardize his future. Meanwhile, a power shift tests Phil and Geoffrey’s loyalty, and Vivian reexamines motherhood through a new lens. For Ashley, now entering her freshman year of high school, a rebellious streak pushes her to question the familiar order she once knew.

The ensemble cast remains intact taking one last lap in front of the camera. Jabari Banks (Will), Adrian Holmes (Phillip), Cassandra Freeman (Vivian), Olly Sholotan (Carlton), and Jimmy Akingbola (Geoffrey) all return as series regulars. Coco Jones, Akira Akbar, Jordan L. Jones, and Simone Joy Jones will also reprise their roles, though they’ll appear as recurring guest stars this time around.

With eight hour-long episodes on the horizon, the season is expected to bring closure while leaving a lasting mark on audiences who embraced the reimagining of the Fresh Prince legacy.
