SAVANNAH, Ga. () – We’re tracking another hot and humid day today, with high temperatures expected to reach slightly above average topping out in the low 90s. Factoring in the humidity, it will feel more like the upper 90s. Despite the heat, it’s a great day to get outside and enjoy some sunshine before rain chances increase in the coming days.
Our next cold front is set to move through tomorrow afternoon, bringing a chance for isolated showers and storms. That front will settle to our south for a few days, allowing for scattered showers and thunderstorms from midweek through the end of the week. Thanks to increased cloud cover and rain chances, high temperatures will drop back into the low to mid 80s.
The rain this week is not tropical in nature, but we are keeping an eye on a tropical wave in the Atlantic currently moving westward. As of Saturday morning, the chance of development has decreased slightly to 60% over the next seven days. If it does strengthen into a named storm, it would be called Gabrielle. A stronger system would likely curve northwest, while a weaker one would continue westward. We’ll continue to monitor its progress.
